In a scandalous expose, the United Kingdom’s ambassador has been revealed to have called President Donald Trump “inept,” “insecure,” and “incompetent.”
The information came via a leak first published by the Daily Mail. The terms were used in the UK ambassador Kim Darroch’s diplomatic cables sent from the US back to Britain.
The leaked communications show that Darroch told his government that Trump was headed for a career that may “end in disgrace” and the White House was engaged in “knife fights” within itself. Memos encompassing the time frame of 2017 to 2019 were all released. They talk about Trump’s foreign policy, reelection plans, and even question the authenticity of some of his claims.
The White House has had no comment so far and even President’s Trump usually buzzing Twitter Feed is keeping silent on the topic.
President Trump has previously openly criticized the British government; keyword being openly. News of such classified insults from Trump’s side has never surfaced.
He criticized President Theresa May several times for the way she handled the Brexit. He’s also shown no inclination to stay out of their internal affairs and in June, openly announced his support for certain Conservative candidates in the leadership elections. And all of that is in addition to his ongoing feud with Sadiq Khan, the mayor of London.
Nigel Farage, a prominent Brexit campaigner who has often been praised and even suggested for UK ambassador to the US by President Trump came to his defense on social media. He tweeted on Sunday, “Kim Darroch is totally unsuitable for the job and the sooner he is gone the better.”

Ambassadors are often frank while sending such classified cables back to their own country. However, this news, now that it has been leaked could have huge implications on the relationship between the two countries. Its impact is yet to be seen.
