ASAP Rocky’s Sweden Imprisonment period unsure; Justin Bieber, Shawn Mendes and other celebrities petition for the release

ASAP Rocky was arrested for assault charges in Sweden for the detention of 2 weeks. Here’s the detailed summary of what happened and what could happen.

ASAP Rocky aka Rakim Mayers, an American rapper, producer and actor while on his tour for his album and appearances in the festivals across the world has been seen denied to further travel after the incident in Stockholm.

What happened with ASAP Rocky?

While the rapper was in Stockholm around June 30, an incident took place. And according to the Instagram feed of Rocky, four men followed him for four blocks and claimed their Rocky and his men broke their headphones. The video implies as if their physically fighting.

But Rakim’s lawyer Henrick Olsson Lilja explains that his client’s actions were for his own defense. The incident happened on his way from Stockholm Smash Festival where Rocky was seen with Bad Bunny and Migos.

According to the Instagram post

Rocky on his Instagram post captioned along with a video, “SO A FEW DRUG ADDICTS ARE NOT MY FANS, WE DON’T KNOW THESE GUYS, AND WE DIDN’T WANT TROUBLE, THEY FOLLOWED US FOR 4 BLOCKS, AND THEY WERE SLAPPING GIRLS BUTTS WHO PASSED, GIVE ME A BREAK.”

Festivals Rakim has missed

It has been reported that Rakim went to the Police on July 3rd and got arrested. On the same day, he was scheduled to attend Norway’s Kadettan Festival. In the next four days, he was in custody and missed Poland’s  Open’er Festival, Dublin’s  Wireless Festival, and London’s Wireless Festival.

Current Statement from ASAP Rocky’s lawyer

Rocky’s lawyer said, “Unfortunately the Supreme Court reject our appeal today, so Rakim is still detained, now we continue to work with defense plans. This was a statement he made on July 8th.

On July 19th Rocky’s detention will end, but it’s still not clear he’ll be able to appear in Russia, Germany, Ukraine, Italy, Spain, etc. As according to the sources he’ll be convicted then he has to spend two years behind bars.

Justin Beiber came forward to show support in favor of ASAP Rocky. He urged his fans to sign a petition to free Rocky.

Jada Pinkett Smith urged her pans to sign the same petition and said that she firmly believes that ASAP Rocky deserves Justice.

Shawn Mendes expressed his support through twitter. “Stand with @asvpxrocky,” he tweeted on Tuesday. “Support human rights.”

G-Eazy, Post Malone, Lauren Jauregui, Miguel, The-Dream and ASAP Fergy also joined into the movement to support ASAP Rocky.
