Again Suspect for Another Child Rape: Valley Center Man Thomas Walter Arrested at Elementary School of Committing a 14-Year-Old Child Rape

Steven Thomas Walter’s of Valley Center was arrested on Saturday and was remained in jail under suspicion of committing a rape of a child under 14 years of age, reported on Friday

In Early Saturday morning, The police arrested a 37 years old man Steven Thomas Walters of Valley Center on suspicion of child rape and indecent liberties with a child.

He was arrested at West Elementary School and then was sent to jail at 4:20 am around.

After his arrest till Sunday, he has remained in Sedgwick County jail in lieu of a $500,000 bond.

He is accused of raping a child under 14 years on Friday.

At 11:30 morning on Friday the crime was reported, and then Valley Center’s police-initiated it’s work and started to hunt the man behind such rape.

The crime is alleged to have committed at home in the 4200 blocks of west 89th street North.
Walters is alleged to reside in the same block.

As per the Kansas Department of Corrections records, Walters was previously convicted of aggravated battery and criminal threat in Sedwick County in 2013 and 2014.

In that case, Prosecutors originally charged Walter with rape, sodomy and aggravated indecent liberties with an 8-year-old child and sodomy of a different 8-year-old child and sodomy of a 6-year-old child and sodomy of a 5-year-old child and these alleged crimes were occurred in 2013 and 2014.

Then he pleaded guilty in 2015 to lesser offenses of 4 felony counts of aggravated battery and two misdemeanor counts of criminal restraint. Then the court sentenced Walter to probation and lessened the child sex charges.

He was under probation for 24 months and was also sentenced to 12 months of post-release supervision with an underlying 58 months in prison and was also sentenced to jail for 12 months.

He was about to register as a violent offender and not as a sex offender. But he is again under suspicion of committing a sexual crime against a child.
