What’s the news about Oscar 2020? Who are the contenders so far? To know about it read further.
Host-less Show
The award season is close, and it is being talked about widely. Movies like Quentin Tarantino’s Once Upon A Time In Hollywood and Elton John biopic Rocket Man have incited a buzz about who will bag the Academy Awards statues in 2020. Last year’s awards were a big success, even though it had no host and no Best Popular Movie Category. Will 2020’s ceremony have a host? The ceremony will take place on 9th February 2020. It has not been confirmed if this ceremony will have a host. However, last year’s show pulled many viewers, and we can guess that this year too, the show will have no host. Karey Burke, the head of ABC, said,” We’re not messing with that format, to the best of our abilities.”
Who are all the contenders?
Quentin Tarantino’s Once Upon A Time In Hollywood is undoubtedly going to be one of them. Tarantino, who has two Oscars already might take the best director’s award this year. Rocketman too might have a chance this year. In August of 2018, Academy announced it would introduce a new category: Best Popular Film. This idea didn’t get much support, so they got rid of it, but hopefully, in some future ceremony, we might find it.
