What She Said On The Episode

Logan Paul has been a close friend of Thorne’s for years. On his podcast, asked her what it was like to talk about being sexually abused, and how it stayed with her as a young Hollywood star.

“I think it was probably one of the reasons I felt so drowned, and I was in such a dark place growing up,” the actress said. She even revealed that she contemplated suicide for a while.

Thorne spoke about the toxicity of being in the public eye while keeping her abuse a secret. “Everyone knows everything about you, but there’s this one thing that’s so big and makes you literally who you are,” she said, referring to facing abuse at a young age.”It’s literally changed me as a person completely.”

She said that she felt “encased” in secret “like a ‘Black Mirror’ episode, beating on the inside.” In her words, it made her feel like she was “completely drowning.”

Her History: When She Started Speaking Out

Thorne has publicly spoken about being sexually abused as a child before in the hopes that it inspires others to stand up for every victim.

“I was sexually abused and physically growing up from the day I can remember till I was 14,” the caption read alongside a picture of her covered up in a black coat and wool hat, looking over her shoulder. “When I finally had the courage to lock my door at night and sit by it. All damn night. Waiting for someone to take advantage of my life again. Over and over I waited for it to stop and finally it did. But some of us aren’t as lucky to get out alive,” she wrote. “Please, today stand up for every soul Mistreated. #timesup”
