Danai Gurira, who appeared as Michonne in The Walking Dead Series, has confirmed that she will take a leave from the show after its final appearance in the 10th season
Danai played the character of Michonne since The Walking Dead Season 3.
While telling about leaving the series, she told the fans that she is going to the show, but her heart will never go.
She made the following statements:
“I can confirm this will be my final season on this amazing TV show as Michonne.”
“I would just like to say that this has been one of the purest joys of my life to play this role and to be amongst these people and those who are not here right now and amongst all of you.”
“I’m very thankful for the experience I’ve had in ways I can’t state right now. My heart does not leave in any way, shape, or form. The TWD family is forever. The connection between us never ends.”
Leaving the show must be a difficult decision for her, but she left the show to get other opportunities and to explore more.
She has reportedly signed the deal which would make season 10 her final appearance in the show.
Andrew Lincoln who appeared as Rick Grimes has already departed from the show in its Season 9 and after Season 10 she will take the exit from the show.
It is expected that her exit will be a massive blow for the show as she became the Show’s central core largely after Rick’s departure. After her exit, it will be a challenge for the show makers to manage the series after the 10th season if it continues.
