The American rapper, A$AP Rocky, is currently in jail. He got arrested for getting involved in a fight with a pair of men.
Recently, news website, TMZ, stated that the Swedish court gave a racialistic verdict to the two American rappers, A$AP Rocky and G-Easy.
Rocky is in a Swedish jail for weeks now. In spite of the absence of criminal charges, the court has sentenced him 6 years of imprisonment. On the other hand, last year American rapper, G-Easy was arrested for punching a security guard and inhaling drugs in a club. He was arrested and was in custody only for few days. G-Easy was charged, $10,000 fine and probation by the Swedish court. The court also ordered him to pay $900 to the Security guard. After the incident, the rapper was quickly released and went back to his country.
It seems that the Swedish government gave a racialistic verdict in A$AP Rocky and G-Eazy cases. The two rappers previously collaborated on the remix to G-Eazy’s “No Limit” track.
The American rapper, G-Easy posted a message on Instagram referring to the report by TMZ. He wrote that “Facts. This is the sad truth… The difference between me and Rocky’s treatment and process in Sweden brings to mind two concepts that disgustingly go hand in hand: white privilege and systemic racism.” G-Easy continued by saying, “Let’s call it what it is. He should not be behind bars right now. My heart goes out to my brother @asaprocky and his team. We’re riding for yall. #JusticeForRocky #FreeRocky.”
The Swedish Ambassador, Karin Olofsdotter recently had a talk in TMZ Live. When he was asked about A$AP Rocky’s case, he said that, black people are “more than welcome to Sweden.”
American comedian, Jada Pinkett Smith also commented on TMZ’s article. She gave her opinion on twitter, saying, “Hold it … G-Eazy got to strike a deal a day and half after possession of drugs and assault charges??? But you’re holding Rocky.” She continued by saying, “We got the message loud and clear Sweden. Trust me … we got it.”
That’s not all, Kim Kardashian West and Kanye West have requested the U.S. President, Donald Trump to help them with the release of A$AP Rocky. The U.S. President, tweeted that, he had a spoke with, American singer Kayne West regarding A$AP Rocky release. He said, he would be calling the Prime Minister of Sweden, Stefan Löfven to resolve the matter as soon as possible.
