According to one of senior administration officials, it was Kardashian West who reached out to Trump’s son-in-law and senior advisor Jared Kushner and told him about the situation on behalf of her husband. Kushner then briefed Trump, who directed Mike Pompeo to see what could be done. The state department said that it was following the case but did not reveal any details citing privacy considerations. Kardashian West was later seen thanking Trump, Pompeo, and Kushner via twitter.
Thank you @realDonaldTrump , @SecPompeo, Jared Kushner & everyone involved with the efforts to Free ASAP Rocky & his two friends. Your commitment to justice reform is so appreciated 🙏🏼🤞🏼 https://t.co/Ym1Rzo5Z6c

Rocky’s lawyer said that he was aware of the president’s comments and was very thankful for everyone who has read out to show their support for him. Trump revealed to reporters in Oval Office that it was his wife who had initially been brought the case to his attention. He did not mention anything about Kardashian West or Kushner to the reporters.
Stockholm’s District Court decided on Friday that Rocky would remain in custody for one more week so that police could complete their investigations. The police have been given a deadline of July 25 for completing their investigations. Rocky’s attorney said that the decision was unjust, but he remains confident in his case.
