Horizon Zero Dawn 2 is almost certainly in the works. I mean, we can feel it. The first game was somewhere between too good to be true and mind-blowing with an ending that leaves players dying for a sequel. And while Guerrilla is determined not to give us any details, we’ve gathered all the information we can from various sources about a sequel to Aloy’s story.
Why Horizon Zero Dawn is Almost Certainly Confirmed
One, no-one stops at one super hit game. Looking at it from the company’s point of view, it makes sense to have a sequel, especially when everyone will definitely download it.
That and Janina Gavankar definitely dropped a hint or two a few months ago. The actress gave voice to Tatai in Frozen Wilds DLC. And fans are predicting that she could appear in the sequel, even though her role was on the minor side.
Gavankar posted a live stream of her at the Star Wars Celebration 2019 in April. While talking to a fan cosplaying as another video game character, Horizon Zero Dawn came up. “It’s incredible. Just wait ’til you see the sequel, you’re gonna die,” she said cryptically. “I know some secrets, you’re gonna die.”
We’re guessing Guerrilla might’ve not wanted her to say that. But see for yourself. The sequel is coming.
A Release Date: What We Can Expect
The release date is really up in the air at this point. We’ll get an official confirmation and a trailer before the game actually comes out. But a good guess for the trailer release could be the PSX 2019, so stay tuned.
When it does come out though, it’s almost certain that the game will be limited to Sony’s PS4s. Horizon Zero Dawn 1 sold more than 7.6 million copies last year itself, so why would Sony let Microsoft’s Xbox take advantage of that? But for PS4, PS4 Pro, or upcoming PS5 users, good news comes your way!
