Ellen DeGeneres and Portia de Rossi just sold their joint highly valued beach house in Carpinteria, California. Could this be another sign that they are headed for divorce?
The Multimillion-Dollar Beach House Sale
Variety announced on Friday that Ellen DeGeneres (the talk show host) and her actress wife Portia de Rossi managed to sell their vacation house by the beach to a makeup tycoon. The sale price was reported $23 million, just $1 million short of the price they were asking for- $24 million.
The house was marketed by Compass broker Suzanne Perkins and Riskin Partners Group at Village Properties. It ended up being bought by makeup tycoon Jamie Kern Lima and husband Paulo Lima, founder of IT Cosmetics since 2008. IT Cosmetics was sold to L’Oreal for $1.2 billion a while ago, but Jamie remains the CEO of the beauty brand. They paid for the buy-in cash.
The now 61 and 46-year-old couple purchased the beach house back in October of 2017 for a price of $18.6 million. This means that the earned a definite profit of $4.4 million from the transaction involving the property.

A History Of Divorce Rumours
Divorce rumors have surrounded this couple for years, and they’ve rarely responded. A couple of internet tabloid website reported three days ago that Ellen and Portia are headed for a split due to a fight on adoption. Portia, the website reports, does not want to have kids, and Ellen doesn’t sit well with that.
Another report says that Ellen is annoyed by how much time Portia spends on her career. Portia meanwhile is said to be angry with Ellen for spending too much time in her talk-show studio.
But despite all the speculation, the couple seems to be going strong. They celebrated their 10th wedding anniversary last year with a sweet Instagram post from Ellen.
