Brands Nike and Levi’s are set to join forces yet again, coming together on this instance for a collaborative Summer 2019 collection.
Entitled Levi’s by You, the collection will be customizable and focus on personalization, featuring sneakers the likes of the Air Max 90, the Air Force 1 High and the Air Force 1 Low, all of which will come in a range of fabrics such as denim, leather, and corduroy.
Speaking about the collaboration, Levi’s Senior Vice President Jonathan Cheung said, ‘Our 2018 Nike Jordan collaboration became viral customization hit, with people dying, bleaching and distressing the denim-clad Jordans. So customization was first in mind when we got together with Nike again.
So Levi’s by You feels like the perfect creative project. Working together with the Nike creative team, we have a menu of ingredients so that you can customize your own Air Force 1’s and Air Max 90’s. We also made a limited run of AF1 Highs and AF1 Lows, plus some of Levi’s Trucker jackets and jeans. Two iconic brands, customized by you.’
Both brands made their first foray into the realm of customization almost two decades ago, with lines titled Nike ID and Levi’s Tailor Shop, respectively, with the upcoming capsule being another chapter of that legacy.
And, to complement the aforementioned sneaker range, Nike and Levi’s are also set to release a spare of collaborative Trucker jackets and 501 Jeans.
Levi’s by You is slated for launch on the 5th of August on Nike’s online store at Nike.com/LevisByYou, whilst the limited range of jackets and jeans will debut on the 26th of August in select Levi’s outlets and their web portal as well.
