Former TODAY show host Kathie Lee Gifford was spotted getting comfortable with an unknown man by the paparazzi during a concert in Tennessee recently.
The 65-year-old was seen kissing and embracing the man and, according to a bystander that talked to the press, looked relatively tipsy.
The story has attracted copious amounts of attention due to the fact that Gifford, who retired from the TODAY show back in April after more than a decade of service to the program, seemingly hasn’t dated anyone since the passing of her husband and been quiet about her relationships thereafter.
In October of 1986, a then 33-year-old Kathie Lee Johnson married 56-year-old Frank Gifford, a highly-decorated former halfback for the NFL’s New York Giants that once even won the league’s coveted Most Valuable Player award.
The two would remain married until Frank’s death back in August of 2015.
The cause of death was first simply identified as old age, given that Gifford was 84-years-old when he passed away, although a later analysis of his brain revealed the true extent of traumatic head injuries he sustained during his playing career, usual for the sport of American football, and were seen as an underlying cause and contributing factor.
His wife Kathie, meanwhile, has rebranded her career since then.
After winning an Emmy Award with her iconic co-host Hoda Kotb for the previously mentioned show, Gifford took a sabbatical and announced her intent to later return as part of the film industry, both, in the capacity of a producer and an actress.
Her first outings in these roles had earlier come with films like A Godwink Christmas and Then Came You, the latter of which will now receive multiple sequels and release in the coming years.
