Mortal Kombat 11 Nightwolf Trailer Released

After weeks of teasing by Mortal Kombat 11 Director Ed Boon, the official trailer for Nightwolf finally dropped Thursday.

Nightwolf Gameplay Reveal

Nightwolf is a Native American character who was first introduced to the players in Mortal Kombat 3. His return was hinted when it was confirmed that he would be part of the Kombat Pack or DLC character.

The character was teased back in June with a Nintendo-eshop listing revealing that it would be added on August 13th. Fans were slightly skeptical, even when Ed Boon cryptically tweeted that Nightwolf news was coming Thursday.

However, Mortal Kombat’s official Twitter account shared a 10 second clip which dispersed all skepticism. The tweet’s caption read: “Blood will be spilled to protect the spirit realm”. The short video featured a close up of Nightwolf’s face in addition to giving the gameplay reveal date of August 1st, Thursday.

Nightwolf Trailer

NetherRealm Studios released the trailer titled ‘Mortal Kombat 11 Kombat Pack- Official Nightwolf Gameplay Trailer’ at 9 am on Thursday.

The 2 minute trailer shows The Wolf in ‘Kombat’ with several MK 11 rivals. He uses a variety of spectral weapons like bows and arrows, knives and even a deadly looking hatchet.

Although the trailer doesn’t reveal the character’s moveset, it demonstrates one of his fatalities which is cleaving his enemy with his hatchet. It does reveal some ranged and close-quarter abilities which include calling down lightning and using close-range weapons to attack them.

The trailer’s description reads: “Born as Grey Cloud, Nightwolf is a proud and fierce warrior dedicated to the cause of good and chosen by the Great Spirit to become the Matoka tribe’s champion and protector.”

Mortal Kombat 11 is currently available on Nintendo Switch, PC, PlayStation 4 and Xbox One.
