“Avengers: Endgame” writer hope that there were two versions of Steve Rogers in the Funeral scene of Peggy Carter!

“Avengers: Endgame” was a culminating film which had so many characters, a plethora of storyline and more. So naturally, it was a  matter of question whether this film can do justice to the earlier 21 films. Guess what! It did and passed with flying colors.

The romance between Steve Rogers and Peggy Carter never culminated to a union. To give a better ending to their story, makers made Captain America to Time travel just before the conclusion of the “Avengers: Endgame”. In the concluding part, Steve Rogers travel back in the 1970s to live and grow old with his love interest Peggy Carter.

The question which arises here is whether this version of Steve Roger attended the funeral of Peggy. If we remember the scene of her funeral in “Captain America: The civil war” we saw young Roger acting as a pallbearer to Peggy’s Coffin.

In an interview to Los Angeles Times, writer Christopher Marcus said that he would like to think that an Elderly Roger attended the funeral ceremony of her beloved. He also added that  he loves the idea of having two versions of Steve Roger in the same timeline. And the reason is not any Time travel numbo jumbo but for personal pain and satisfaction.

In Endgame commentary track, co-writer of the film Stephen McFeely reveals that Captain America’s Time Travel at the end of the film was not included in the initial drafts of the movie. He further added that it would have been a shame if it was not included in the film as the entire sequence and acting was more than just beautiful. Marcus while seconding the statement added that even a layman who does not have many ideas of the characters could tell the brewing chemistry and Romance between the two.
