There’s good news for Pierce Brosnan fans! The veteran actor has been signed in to act in Netflix’s next comedy Eurovision.
Brosnan, Will Ferrel, and Rachel McAdams together…
Brosnan will be sharing the screen with Will Ferell and Rachel McAdams. Ferell and McAdams will be playing the lead roles. They will be seen as Icelandic musicians Lars Erickssong and Sigrit Ericksdottir in the movie.
It’s about the song contest…
Brosnan will be playing the role of Lars’ father, Erick Erickssong and the most handsome man in Iceland. The movie is based on “The Eurovision Song Contest”- the longest-running annual international TV song competition. For those of you who don’t know about the contest then I must tell you that ABBA (1974 winner for Sweden) and Celine Dion’s (1988 winner for Switzerland) careers took off after winning this contest.
Will Brosnan sing in the movie?
So can we expect some singing from Brosan? Well, Brosnan is not new to singing in movies having been acted in Mamma Mia and Edgar Wright’s The World’s End. So, we might hear him singing in Eurovision. The comedy will be directed by David Dobkin.
The script is written by Ferell and Andrew Steele. The movie is produced by Ferell, Jessica Elbaum and Chris Henchy from Gary Sanchez Productions with Adam McKay as EP. The filming will be taking place in the UK and Iceland.
The release date of the comedy hasn’t been announced yet. Although Netflix has had a bad history with comedies, let’s see if this one will be good or not.
