Crunchyroll has announced the renewal of the Rising of the Shield Hero series. The anime based on Aneko Yusagi’s novel began grabbing eyeballs since its release. The series has received excellent reviews so far, so this decision is not much of a surprise.
Rising of the Shield Hero Season 2 Release Date
Crunchyroll in its 2019 expo announced plans for seasons 2 and 3. But they haven’t yet revealed the exact date of its release. The first season spanned 25 episodes. The series soon became a fan favorite due to its exceptional plotline and brilliant execution. So the fans were excited to meet their cast during the expo. The cast thanked their viewers for their support. They also told the fans that the best is yet to come.
Voice Cast: Rising of the Shield Hero
The central characters will reprise their roles. Billy Kametz will voice the protagonist Naofumi Iwatani. Erica Mendez and Brianna Knickerbocker will also return as Rapthalia and Filo. The anime maestro, Sarah Bridcutt, will return as Myne.
The series draws a lot of content from the novel. But it hasn’t always stuck to the plotline. It has drifted away from the novels. The climax or rather the finale of the series will be thus radically different when compared to the book. Season 2 will pick up from manga Volume 12, with a story about the Spirit Tortoise and a major villain. Season 2 may take the anime ahead of the manga. Season 3 will then adapt a story arc beginning from Volume 10 of the light novels.
Raphthalia’s return is what most of the fans are concerned about. He has been a favorite since the inception of the series. So his replacement will be an exciting one for the fans. A lot of new antagonists will announce their arrival in the new season. We will see more of gut-wrenching conflicts, and a lot of the mysteries about the Shield will unravel.
