One of the successful hits under the animation category is Cells at Work, which is an adaptation of Akane Shimizu’s works. The first release in 2018 became a great hit among the audience. The season was then directed by Kenichi Suzuki, but now season 2 will be taking over by Director Hirofumi Ogura.
Season 1 gained more attention with a great script that was scribbled by Yuuko Kakihara. The director and the series writer together made a benchmark for the show. Rumors were there about its release in 2020, but eventually, the official Twitter account clarified that it is not releasing in this year. Fans and the audience will surely have to wait for the release of season 2. As per the sources, it will release in 2021 in the first quarter or so, yet the release date is not confirmed. The production team also announced that Season 2 of Cells at Work would be produced by David Productions animation studio.
No official announcement of the trailer launch in the near time is yet confirmed. Like the script, development and production are still in process, and due to COVID- 19 pandemic, it may delay further.
Who is returning for season 2?
From the sources close to the show, it is confirmed that the whole cast of season 1 will return for season 2. Along with the cast, the hit series character designer Takahiko Yoshida will also return. Season 2 will have music compose by Kenichiro Suehiro from Mayuko. It will be interesting to see the new storyline of the show when its release.
