Narcos: Mexico – Is star Diego Luna really leaving the show!!?

Netflix’s crime drama web-series Narcos: Mexico has become very popular among fans. The show was originally planned to be one of the later seasons of the original series, Narcos. However, it later became a separate companion series.

The original show revolved around Pablo Escobar, who first began manufacturing cocaine in the ’70s and went on the become a big drug-lord. It chronicled the main events that went down in Columbia at that time under Escobar’s reign. At the end of season 2, Escobar is finally surrounded while he is on the run and executed by Trujillo, a Colombian policeman.

     All About Narcos: Mexico

The companion series tells the story of the origin of the modern war on drugs. Cannabis dealing was quite disorganized in the 80s, and the show tells the story of the rise of the Guadalajara Cartel at that time. Félix Gallardo builds an empire for himself and unifies all the dealers.

He is faced by DEA agent Kiki Camarena, and the show chronicles everything that went down at that time.

    Narcos: Mexico Season 3

At the end of season 2, we saw Gallardo getting arrested by the DEA and sent to prison. Of course, he still had a lot of pull among the cartels even after his lockdown and kept running his business through a phone in his cell.

Fans are excited to find out what happens next and how all this will be shown in the series.

Gallardo actor Diego Luna has, however, stated that he wouldn’t be returning in the next season. When asked about his decision, he said:

“I don’t know. Not for now, not for now, no, no, no. At the beginning it was fun, but then it became really heavy for me. It’s a strong material and I love the way the series shoots for quite a long time because you manage to do great stuff and you’re not in a hurry. At the same time, I’m glad I have my life back and I need a rest.”

Fans are sure to be disappointed by this news but, at the same time, excited to see what turn the show will take now.

    Other Details about Narcos: Mexico

The latest season dropped just this February, so it is a safe bet that we won’t be getting many details about the next one so soon. Especially considering the pandemic that is upon us.

So, till then, I suppose the only thing we can do is binge the previous series on Netflix. Anyway, stay safe and stay tuned for more latest updates.
