“The Alienist Season 2”: The Latest Updates On Release Date, Plot, Cast Many More Is Intact Here!!!

The American period drama series The Alienist will be back for a new season. The series is based on the novel of the same name written by Celeb Carr. Season 1 came out on January 21, 2018, and ended it’s ten episodes run on March 26, 2018.

The series had a stellar cast led by Daniel Bruhl, Luke Evans and Dakota Fanning. Alienist also hosts some famous historical figures such as Theodore Roosevelt. Global streaming rights of the series were acquired by Netflix, and it was mainly through this that the series garnered a huge number of viewers. In August 2018, TNT announced that the series would be renewed for a second season.

 

The series when it came out opened up to generally favorable reviews. Critics didn’t give it so much to rely on and settled with a maximum score of 66%. But the reviews from fans were over the mark with the series not going below 8 in any platform. Google users rated the series with a 96% approval.

The new season will be based on the sequel novel of the Alienist called The Angel Of Death. The setting or storyline of the series will be the same as in season 1. Season 2 will revolve around the premise of a kidnapping.

Sara Howard ( Dakota Fanning ), who is a private detective, now handles the case. And, she calls upon her friends Dr. Lazlo Kreizler (Daniel Bruhl) and John Moore (Luke Evans) to help her. The rest of the plot is about the investigation, which will be par with the novel.

RELEASE

Netflix nor TNT have announced an exact release date for the release of season 2. But, based on the recent reports, we can expect it at the end of 2020. But, if the coronavirus pandemic manages to hold on for more than we expect, the release will be delayed.

So all we can do is to wait for the next season and their announcement regarding it. For those who have already read the novel, it may not be a big deal, but for those fans who haven’t, it surely is.
