Finally, after a long wait, we are getting a standalone Batman. After changing the course of superhero films by the Dark Knight Trilogy. It has been a slide down for the character, after his brief snippet in Suicide Squad and consequent starring in the Batman v Superman and Justice League. Ben Affleck’s Batman has been not much of a breakthrough among fans.
From the cast list, we have found out that the movie will have Paul Dano as Riddler and Colin Farrell Penguin as the main adversary to Batman by Robert Pattinson. We can conclude the fact that the story will revolve around more younger Batman who will face such villains as a detective.
The shooting began in London in January of 2020 but was suspended indefinitely after the pandemic caused the lockdown. The movie is set to release to 1st October 2020. The movie is directed by Matt Reeves, the story itself is written by Matt Reeves along with Mattson Tomlin.
Ben Affleck was supposed to star in the film but quit over personal issues he was currently facing.
Backlash of Batman
Recruiting the twilight star for the role of Batman has faced a lot of backlash from the community. But the actor Robert Pattinson has said “vitriolic than I was expecting […] it’s much more fun when you’re an underdog. There’s no expectation of you.”
The production has released the video of bat suit and batmobiles, both of which have received strong support from the community.
Catwomen will also be appearing in the movie portrayed by Zoe Kravitz, who also voiced the same character in the Lego batman.
