Megalo Box or called as Megaro Bokusu in Japanese is an anime series that debuted in 2018 with the first season comprising of thirteen episodes. The show was produced by TMS Entertainment in commemoration of a famous Manga series – Ashita no Joe.

The first season of the show premiered in April 2018 and aired till June the same year. After the Season one, much to the delight of the fans, there were three special episodes that got released. And soon, during the NYC 2019, the makers announced another season to be under production. Although there has been no official announcement of the return of the series, we expect it to be out by late 2020 or early 2021.

The major cast that forms the premise of the series includes Junk Dog or Joe in the titular role of a young potential Megalo boxer, Gansaku Nanbu who portrays as Junk Dog’s coach initially, Yukiko Shirato is the head of the Shirato group that organizes the Megalonia tournament, and then there’s Yuri, the lead antagonist who is Yukiko’s bodyguard but soon becomes the rival of Junk Dog.

Megalo Box Season 2 Plot
The story revolves around Joe, and the premise is set in a futuristic Japan, where only rich have access to city luxuries and poor reside in slums. The Megalo Boxing becomes immensely popular, which is a general boxing fight but a special element added, as the fighters wear a gear ( metal frames and mechanical limbs). The conclusion of the first season left an open end to build the storyline for the upcoming one. It is going to take a time leap of seven years.
However, Joe and Yuri would return to reprise their respective roles, progressing the story. The last episode witnessed Yuri in a wheelchair, and Joe delivered some packages which leave the story in loose ends to be tied in the forthcoming season.
