Popular Cappella Singer And ‘Scrubs’ Actor ‘Sam Lloyd’ DEAD At 56 A Year After Diagnosing With Inoperable Brain Tumor

The actor who portrayed the popular character, lawyer Ted Buckland, in comedy-drama series Scrubs, Sam Lloyd, heartbreakingly passed away at the age of 56 on April 30, 2020.

Sam Lloyd has appeared in various series and films throughout his career. His life took a turn last year when he was diagnosed with an inoperable brain tumor. The actor and his wife Vannessa gave birth to their first son when the Modern Family actor was receiving his diagnosis. The brain tumor diagnosis was later revealed to be metastatic lung cancer, and cancer had already spread across his jawbone, spine, and liver.

Lloyd came from a family where most of his relatives had been an actor. His father, for instance, was the actor, and he is the nephew of renowned actor Christopher Lloyd. Christopher Lloyd played Dr. Emmett “Doc” Brown in 1985 blockbuster science-fiction movie, Back to the Future and its sequels.

Apart from acting, he has devoted his life as a brilliant musician and singer. He was a cappella singer and shared the stage with a cappella group The Blanks while the group appeared in comedy-drama series Scrubs, in which he was part of.
