For a moment, we thought that we would not see the adventure of wisecracking mercenary after Disney acquired Fox in 2019. The Walt Disney Company merely works on projects that have material unsuitable for the age group under 18, and Deadpool is all about dark fun and extreme violence from start to end.
Luckily, Disney agreed to be liberal on this one, and in December 2019, Ryan Reynolds (who portrays the titular character) confirmed that there is third Deadpool movie in development in the new studio. But that’s not it, and the upcoming sequel may feature the cameo of Huge Jackman’s Wolverine, aka Logan so that the new studio might have a foundation to re-introduce all X-men characters.
The sources claimed that the Marvel Studios are working to request Hugh Jackman to return as the physically enhanced mutant in Deadpool 3. The studio is trying to have Wolverine’s appearance in a short scene were mercenary Wade Wilson kills all the X-men characters especially appeared in Fox-era. However, the scene would be concise and would be made solely for laughs—considering the sarcastic hate between Wolverine and Deadpool.
Yes, the rumor sounds exciting, but there’s very little chance of happening the same because Jackman already announced that he wouldn’t return as Wolverine on the big screen again. So, if he decides to honor his statement, then it is inevitable that we would never see Jackman as Wolverine.
As for the development for the third film, writers Rhett Reese and Paul Wernick confirmed that they have a script for the upcoming sequel, and they have forwarded it to Marvel Studios, but they haven’t heard anything from the studio. We don’t have any scheduled release date for Deadpool 3, but Disney and Marvel Studios had previously booked a date in 2022 for an untitled Marvel project, and well, we can assume this might be it.
