OreGairu also named My Teen Romantic Comedy SNAFU is based on Japanese light novel series. Wataru Watari wrote the novel series and it was illustrated by Ponkan8. The series is based on the story of a teen named Hachiman Hikigaya. She is a pessimistic and close-minded boy. His teacher compels him to join the school’s service club and is accompanied by 2 girls. The partners with whom he has to work have issues of their own and they help others as they work with their own inner conflicts.
After the creation of 3 manga adaptations and 2 anthology volumes, an anime television series was released on 4th April 2013. When season 1 turned out to be a hit, Season 2 was released on 2nd April 2015. The release of third and final season had been officially confirmed but it turns out that things won’t go as it is planned to be.
Release Date
A number of upcoming anime series had their release dates pushed back due to the COVID-19 pandemic. Unfortunately, OreGairu Season 3 also falls on this list. The first episode of the 3rd Season shifted its release date from 9th April 2020 to uncertainty. Instead of airing the new episode, titled “Eventually, the season change and the snow melts”, the episodes of the second season will be aired.
The team officially announced this on twitter.
(@anime_oregairu) April 7, 2020
This was tweeted 2 days before the initially planned release date. And its English translation goes like this:
There has bee no no further updates regarding the extended-release date. Going with the trend of other seasons, we can expect the next season to be released probably after six months or so.
Expected Plot
In Season 3 of the series, the club will face issues of the high school prom and we can expect sparks of romance to build up in the next season. Fans are eagerly waiting for the climax in the final season and all we can do is wait a bit more.
