[CONFIRMED] Mindy Kaling and Dan Goor Will Write FRESH SCRIPT For Reese Witherspoon’s Legally Blonde 3

Reese Witherspoon confirmed that her popular movie series, Legally Blonde is going to have the third installment, but the updates regarding MGM’s Legally Blonde 3 have been quiet in recent times.

Finally, the major update revealed that Mindy Kaling and Dan Goor have signed to write the script for an upcoming comedy film. The news was independently verified Deadline, and the feature film will be the second time that Kaling and Goor have collaborated together. The heart of the franchise, Resse Witherspoon, is reprising her role as a lawyer, Elle Woods, and will also be producing with her banner, Hello Sunshine.

Legally Blonde’s second installment was released back in 2003, two years after the release of the first film. The comedy-drama received negative reviews from the critics and fans, but also the movie was commercially successful. The movie became pop-culture blockbuster many years after the original air date, and fans were expecting one more outing with Reese Witherspoon.

The Capitol Barbie, aka Witherspoon, recently appeared in an Instagram Live with singer-songwriter Jennifer Lopez and talked about the upcoming movie. Lopez exclaimed with joy that she had watched Legally Blonde just a few days ago with her kids, and she claimed that they loved it. J-Lo then mentioned that her children want to know what happens next, and in response, Witherspoon revealed that they might be working on Legally Blonde 3.

Metro-Goldwyn-Mayer and the film’s original producer Marc Platt will also produce the third installment. Deadline also confirmed that the script from Kaling and Door would have an entirely new approach to the story arc, and the film will be released within the next two years. Most of the production companies in Hollywood have been temporarily shut down due to the coronavirus pandemic, and Legally Blonde 3 will also enter in development once the business resumes.
