It’s summer in Hawkins, Indiana, where strange(r) things are bound to occur. Stranger Things is a sci-fi horror series that airs on Netflix. It exposes the consequences of scientific experiments of the Hawkins National Laboratory. These experiments aim to study the paranormal and the supernatural and the lab rats happen to be numbered, humans. What happens as a result of these experiments is the opening of a dimension called “the Upside Down,” which starts to exert an influence on the lives of the residents of Hawkins.
Finn Wolfhard as Mike Wheeler
One of these residents is Mike Wheeler (Finn Wolfhard), an intelligent thirteen-year-old with great intelligence, sound morals and tender feelings for Eleven (Millie Bobby Brown). He often goes to great, sometimes perilous, lengths to protect her and his other friends from harm.
In Season 1, he discovers Eleven in the woods during a search for the missing Will Byers (Noah Schnapp) and takes her home. He treats her with hospitality and eventually develops a strong bond with her. His affection for her deepened gradually, and when he thought she died, he called her for 353 days straight from his Supercom.
On Season 3
Recently, Finn Wolfhard, Millie Bobby Brown, Caleb McLaughlin, Sadie Sink, Noah Schnapp, and Gaten Matarazzo gave an interview on the Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon. When asked to describe the upcoming third season, Wolfhard said it’s going to be “classic.” Talking to Empire, he said:
“The first season was more about the adventure aspect and kind of fun, the second season was more about the horror aspect. Season 3 is everything, like the fun of Season 1 and the horror of Season 2, and the Duffers have got better at it, at writing it. And we’ve become better actors.”
Netflix announced that Season 3 would premiere on America’s national holiday, the Fourth of July.
