She is an Amazonian-Olympian who was carved by Hippolyta from a ball of clay. She is fierce and an icon for every woman who needs self-assurance and empowerment. She is none other than DC Comics’ Wonder Woman.
Wonder Woman got her eponymous film in 2017. It was directed by Patty Jenkins and saw Israeli actress Gal Gadot in the leading role. While it was shot on a budget of $150 million, it racked up a mind-blowing $821 million at the box office. The movie was praised extensively by critics who were delighted with the performances of Gal Gadot and Chris Pine (who portrays Steve Trevor).
But Where’s the Trailer?
Thanks to the critical and commercial success of the first film, a second film is scheduled to be released on June 5, 2020. It’s titled Wonder Woman 1984. It will focus on Diana Prince’s involvement in the Cold War and her enmity with Cheetah (Kristin Wiig). The film’s teaser poster is electric. It shows Wonder Woman against a bright geometric background. While the poster made its appearance, a trailer hasn’t been dropped and this has concerned fans.
Marvel and DC customarily attend the Comic-Con festival to share news on their upcoming projects, give interviews, premier trailers and introduce cast members. This time, however, Warner Bros. will not show up at Comic-Con. Patty Jenkins tweeted on June 6, “By now you’ve heard: WB isn’t going to Hall H this year. We’re so sad to miss you there! And waiting until Dec. to start our official #WW84 campaign in full — But the truth is… we can just… barely… wait…”
