Cabello had been in a relationship with British dating coach and Youtuber, Matthew Hussey, for the past year, and rumors of an apparent split have dominated entertainment publication headlines over the course of this week, though we don’t yet have a solid explanation as to what possibly caused the break.
Things changed slightly this year, and the couple made more frequent appearances, even attending a spate of Cabello’s award season commitments hand-in-hand, with the singer remarking in an interview with magazine Marie Claire that Hussey made her ‘the happiest I’ve been in my life.’
Of course, fans have flocked to the couple to offer their support, though some have tried to surmise just why their relations soured. Among these theories, the most popular posts that the very sensual music video for Senorita, a collaboration single between Cabello and Shawn Mendes, might’ve become a point of concern.
Add to this the fact that Cabello is currently hard at work on her latest album; fans have come up with what they deem to be a plausible explanation for the break-up. The consequence of which has been the singer’s mammoth fanbase taking to social media and attacking, both, Hussey and Mendes depending on who they think is in the wrong.

The steady stream of hateful comments compelled Cabello to take action, posting a heartfelt plea on her Instagram story, that read “To my fans, if you really love me, please do not send people I love and care about hateful things” and urging them to refrain. “There’s a real person behind your tweets. You spamming them with hateful, insensitive things is really not funny, is causing all of our pain, and doesn’t all reflect the values I talk about” concluded the singer.
