The 2019 Charlie’s Angels trailer dropped, and it seems fun. The official reboot of the 2000 blockbuster which saw Cameron Diaz, Lucy Liu, and Drew Barrymore in the shoes of titular characters.
About the cast and director
The movie is directed by Elizabeth Banks, who also plays Bosley in the film. The film stars Ella Balinska, Naomi Scott, Kristen Stewart, and Patrick Stewart. Naomi Scott portrays Elena, a programmer. Kristen Stewart plays Sabina, who “runs the ground game,” and Ella Balinska’s character is a former M-I6 agent.Other appearances in the movie include Noah Centineo, Sam Claflin and Djimon Hounsou.
The trailer and plot…
In the trailer, we see Elena( Naomi Scott), a programmer who is working on a product that could either “revolutionize” the power industry or be weaponized with disastrous results. This puts her in an awkward position. This is when we see things turning wild and other ladies coming into the mix. This movie is basically a remake of the 2000 version, expect a similar plotline of three beautiful private investigators working for a detective agency based in Los Angeles and their boss Charlie Townsend.
Stewart, in her interview with Variety, said that “It’s about the agency going global, getting into intelligence and tech, whistleblowing. You don’t see bikini shots of their bums.”
“It’s kind of like a ‘woke’ version…There’s a kitsch nature to the last ones that was super fun. But nowadays, if you see a woman in combat, everything should be completely and utterly within their ability.” Also, there are three Bosley in the movie played by Elizabeth Banks, Patrick Stewart, and Djimon Hounsou.
This confirms that the agency is going global, and while the plot might be similar, there is enough variations in it to make it acceptable according to present expectations.

As previously mentioned, Elizabeth Banks has directed the film, and she is also producing it through her own company Brownstone Productions, which she co-founded with her husband, Max Handelman. While speaking to the Hollywood Reporter, she told that “It was mentioned to me in passing at a meeting at Sony, like, ‘Hey, we’d love you to do something with Charlie’s Angels.’ I went home and, as a lot of creative people will say, I dreamed about it. It has to stay with you; you have to visualize it, you have to have some seeds of ideas. I felt like I had a take, so I went back in and pitched it, and they liked it.”
Release Date…
The film will be released sure in cinemas on November 15, 2019. It’s shooting began last September and was wrapped up by the end of the year.
