Stranger Things Season 3 is out & the Duffer Brothers blows everyone’s mind with this new season

Netflix’s flagship sci-fi horror series Stranger Things made a high-profile return to our screens this week with Season Three, and upon the conclusion of their incessant binge-runs, its legions of fans have taken to the internet and lodged their inquiries about the show’s future far-and-wide on forums.

Most pertinently, of course, springs the question of whether Stranger Things’ writers will even bequeath viewers with too many more seasons to come.

To that end, brothers Matt and Ross Duffer, the creators of Stranger Things, responded in the affirmative, but only to an extent.

In 2017, the Duffer brothers voiced their intent to confine the series to merely four seasons, stating that anything beyond would, in their opinion, require the show to be fundamentally altered, possibly moving cities, the kind of step they weren’t ready to take.

Since then, understandably, the Brothers might’ve changed their stance, given the positive response to subsequent seasons, but only time will tell.

Minor hints about the content for the potential Season Four, on the other hand, can be discerned from the recently released outing.

Season Three was innately aware of the time-period it existed within, and references about the 1980’s cultural and societal developments were galore through its eight-episode run, forming a backbone for the plot.

Speaking at a recent promotional event, star Millie Bobby Brown talked about how she envisioned the series going forward, stating that she’d be happy with a few more seasons, especially if they were set in mid-to-late 1990s.

The relationship between the characters of Brown (Eleven) and Finn Wolfhard (Mike) was furthered this season, culminating in a relationship and subsequent breakup in Episode Two that results in attempts to patch things up, something that could be a sign of things to come in their journey together.

Moreover, Season Three’s mid-credit scene gave us perhaps the biggest clue as to what we should expect going forth.

In the scene, we see two Russian soldiers opening a door within the confines of a military facility somewhere out in the icy expanse of Russia, where they open a hatch to reveal a Demogorgon, meaning that another portal to an alternate dimension has opened, this time on the other side of the world.

Nonetheless, we’re yet to receive any official confirmation from Netflix, but one can be sure that they have much in store.
