Daisy Ridley recently revealed what the late actor Carrie Fisher was whispering while shooting for a scene from The Force Awakens. Director J.J. Abrams took unused footage of Fisher from “The Force Awakens” to make sure Leia’s story concludes properly in “The Rise of Skywalker.”
And this emotional scene was featured in the trailer of The Rise of Skywalker. In addition to this sweet element, Daisey also revealed what actually happened while shooting. The shot featured had Ridley and Fisher in a hug with a tear rolling down Ridley’s eye.
“It was very sad. I found it very moving to watch it, because I do remember the original,” Ridley said. “And it’s a strange thing to do, for someone that’s not around anymore to be brought back to life. It’s eerie that it resonates so much with what the story is this time. It’s pretty amazing.”
She got emotional and happy while recalling about the time this was shot. Though obviously she didn’t reveal much, she remembered about their hug.
As Ridley recalled, “She was actually whispering, ‘This is a fucking long hug.’ I was trying to do my acting, like, ‘Oh my god, Carrie!’ There wasn’t any discussion about what we were gonna do.”
She laughed in response thinking about the bittersweet memory. Ridley admitted that despite the fun memory, it was still hard to watch the new version of the scene. Leia has exited from the franchise but her memory will always be etched into Star Wars’ history.
