Emmys 2019 Nominations announced: Did your favorite show make it?

We finally have the nominations for the 71st annual Emmy awards. The nominations were announced on Tuesday morning.

And boy do we have some nomination. In nominations or dominated by Game of Thrones but not without any contention. The Marvelous Mrs. Maisel, Chernobyl, Saturday night live, Barry, Fosse/Verdon, When They See Us, Pose, Killing Eve, Succession and This Is Us were also among the shows that racked up multiple nominations.

The final season of HBO’s Game of Thrones collected a record-breaking 32 nominations. This is the most nominations racked up in a single year by any drama series. It is already the most Emmy winning primetime series in history with 42 wins. Impressively, Amazon Prime’s “The Marvelous Mrs. Maisel” has pulled off 20 nominations. The show was already highly critically acclaimed and has garnered audience acceptance and love all over. It is no wonder that it has managed to achieve 20 nominations.

HBO has landed 137 nominations overall shattering its previous record for most nominations achieved by a single network in one year(126 in 2015). Netflix followed HBO with 117 nominations. NBC and Amazon had 58 and 47 appointments, respectively. This is undoubtedly one of the best years for HBO. It also managed to one-up Netflix who had most nominations last year.

The 2019 primetime of Emmy awards will be handed out on the Sunday, September 22.
