Miss Michigan lost her title after an “offensive” post.
Miss Michigan, Kathy Zhu, is a student of the University of Michigan, got dismissed from the Miss World America pageant. The reason was her two political twitter post. This beautiful young girl is very politically active and a Trump supporter. Her views are supporting of conservatives and liberals. She has been very actively posting about the political scenario on her social media accounts. She got 80k followers on Instagram and Twitter combined. The organization of the pageant described her posts as social media as “offensive, insensitive and inappropriate.” according to a letter from the pageant that she posted on her Twitter account.
Zhu said she had faced it before; people, people are intolerant. They cannot et other people exercise their right of freedom to express their opinions. Many of the followers supported Zhu and attacked Miss World America, but the organization did not respond at all. Her 2018 tweet which caused her this loss was: “There is a ‘try a hijab on’ booth at my college campus. So you’re telling me that it’s now just a fashion accessory and not a religious thing? Or are you just trying to get women used to being oppressed under Islam?” But this was not all, she also posted one more tweet, which was: “Did you know the majority of black deaths are caused by other blacks? Fix problems within your own community before blaming others.”
Zhu still sticks to her opinions and has asked Miss World America to describe what they meant by insensitive as she doesn’t find her posts insensitive. We hope she gets invited back into the competition as she doesn’t deserve it for expressing her opinions.
