Suspect’s Identity
The gunman identified as Patrick Crusius, 21, of Allen, Texas was taken into custody with the charges of capital murder, court records revealed. On Sunday the U.S. Attorney for the Western District of Texas, John Bash explained that the federal authorities are investigating the incident as an act of “domestic terrorism.” It means the suspect was with the intent of “coercing and intimidating a civilian population.”

Bash revealed that authorities are also taking hate crimes and federal firearms charges into consideration against Crusius. The charges fetched the death penalty if a person found guilty. “We’re going to do what we do to terrorists in this country, which is to deliver swift and certain justice,” Bash stated in a Sunday’s press conference.
Gomez also talked about the suspect. He reported that Crusius was “taken into custody without incident.” Also, no officials fired their weapons in order to arrest him.

Mexicans Were At Shooter’s Gunpoint
Two law enforcement officials stated to ABC News that after the arrest Crusius told them that he wanted to fire at as many Mexicans as possible.
Without revealing much about what Crusius revealed to law officials El Paso Police Chief Greg Allen said during Sunday’s news conference that “He was forthcoming with information. He basically didn’t hold anything back”.
The officials also claimed that an assault-style rifle, similar to an AK-47 was recovered from the crime scene. Several magazines were also found with the gun.

20 Killed And 20 Injured
Allen at a news conference Saturday night confirmed that the shooter took the life of 20 people. On the other hand, the other 26 left wounded. The injured are aged between two years to 82.
