Youtube Star Brooke Houts Uploaded An Unedited Video Mistakenly Where She Abuses Her Dog. Faces Criticism And An Investigation By Police

YouTube star Brooke Houts who has received acclamation for her work over the video platform has faced backlash by the viewers of an unedited video where she abuses her dog in a manner that angered many over the social media platform. The criticism came when the YouTuber accidentally uploaded a video where she can be seen hitting, seemingly spitting on, and yelling at her dog.

Video Clip Was Taken Back From The YouTube Channel

The video clip was removed from her YouTube channel where she has 334,234 subscribers after the intense setback. But the followers till then have already shared the video over other social media platforms. Later on, Houts also released an edited version of the video, but the criticism forced her to take that back too.

A user shared the deleted video on Twitter:

Houts Yelled And Seemingly Spat At Her Dog

In the video uploaded on Tuesday, Houts grows visibly angry on Sphinx, when her Doberman pooch excitedly jumped into the frame. She reprimands him by slapping him on the head. The abuses continued with she shoving him on the floor and yelling “Stop” at him. Later, she also appears to spit on him.

Houts can be seen pushing Sphinx and shouting, “Lay down!” at him in more videos from the incident.

An Investigation By LAPD Is On For The Abuse Of Dog

The pet’s abuse has not only fetched criticism from the followers, but an investigation by the Los Angeles Police Department is also on. This is after a number of complaints the authority has received. On the incident, LAPD is cited by PEOPLE as “We are aware of the incident. Our Animal Cruelty Task Force has received numerous complaints about the video, and we are currently looking into the matter.”

Houts Offered An Apology

As criticism went on with sharing the footage and comments over it, Houts offered an apology. She also asked for a second chance while explaining that “things in my outside life have been less than exceptional.”

She released the elaborated apology statement on Twitter. There she stated, “Anything I say isn’t going to make those believe I’m a bad person stop believing that, and I’m aware of this. I apologize to anyone who has been effected [sic] negatively by the footage”.

Houts Said That Frustration Led Her To Do All This

She went on with “I am not going to play the ‘victim card’ or anything of that sort, but I do want to point out that I am rarely as upset as what was shown in the footage. The bubbly, happy-go-lucky Brooke that you often see in my videos is typically an accurate representation of me, but it’s obvious that I’m playing up my mood in this video when I’m clearly actually frustrated,” while clarifying that she is not trying to “justify” her behavior towards Sphinx in any way.

Houts though clarified what prompted her to abuse the Doberman. She explained, “Should I have gotten as angry as I did in the video? No. Should I have raised my voice and yelled at him? No. However, when my 75 lb. Doberman is jumping in my face with his mouth open, and I do, as a dog parent, have to show him that this behavior is unacceptable.”

Houts Admitted She Did Wrong By Abusing The Dog

However, she admitted later that “But I want to make it known, REGARDLESS of what my dog does, I should not have acted that way towards him.” In the follow-up, she also clarified that “I want to clarify that I am NOT a dog abuser or animal abuser in any way, shape or form.” She added, “anyone who has witnessed or heard true animal abuse will be able to see that clearly. My dog, in no way, shape, or form, was hurt by any action that I displayed in this video.”

Houts Claimed, She Shares A Loving Relationship With The Dog

“Again, I should NOT have yelled at him or have been as physically aggressive as I was, and I’m fully aware of that,” she said. Houts also claimed that she and the Doberman share a “loving relationship.” She wrote that “My love for him is exponential and infinite, and I do everything I can in my day-to-day life to ensure that he is living as happily as he can. I’m sorry that my actions at that particular moment did not reflect that.”

The sorry note of the YouTuber ended with a request for a second chance. She said, “give me the chance to prove these statements about myself do align with my actions.”
