Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3 was the first film that was announced by Marvel as a part of its Phase 4 line. But, after the initial firing of the director James Gunn over controversial tweets, the future of the movie was uncertain. Lately, Marvel re-hired him and now it is likely that the film will start rolling sometime in 2020. According to The Hollywood Reporter, Marvel is planning to begin shooting in 2020.
However, Gunn is currently busy directing “The Suicide Squad” sequel. This film is scheduled to release on August 6, 2021. The commitment to DCEU means that the work on Guardians of the Galaxy Vol 3 is unlikely to begin before late 2020. This will also slow down the film’s progress. Marvel Studios have not announced its plans yet. It seems they are currently focusing on the conclusion of MCU phase 3 with Spider-Man sequel. “Spider-Man: Far from Home” will be releasing in cinemas on 2 July.
Moreover, sources claim that five actors are set to reunite for a 2020 shoot. These five actors are Chris Pratt, Zoe Saldana, Dave Bautista, Vin Diesel and Bradley Cooper.
Talking about the storyline, it is currently unclear for when the movie will set in the MCU timeline. Volume 2 hinted at set-up for the third film involving Adam Warlock. It was expected to occur in the timeline somewhere between Guardians 2 and Infinity War. However, the lengthy post-credit scene of Avengers: Endgame suggests that the movie will be based on the current timeline. Post-credits scenes revealed that Thor left his Asgardian throne behind to board the Guardians’ ship.
So now with Thor with the Guardians, we are sure to see him in the next Guardians of the Galaxy movie which is expected to release in 2020. However, there is one more thing that fans are excited for the Guardians of Galaxy 3 and that is Adam Warlock.
Adam Warlock and Thor are going to be a major part in Guardians of the Galaxy 3, are they going to find Gamora?
