The ‘Dee Dee Blanchard Murder‘ mystery instantly garnered national attention after the shocking story of Gypsy Rose reached out. Rose was sent to prison after she volunteered her online boyfriend, Nicholas Godejohn, to kill her mother in 2015. A daughter killing her mother is pretty disturbing. But Gypsy Rose’s reason for the murder took it to the next level: Claudine “Dee Dee” Blanchard allegedly forced Gypsy Rose to pretend she had leukaemia, asthma and muscular dystrophy. The mother was suspected of Munchausen Syndrome by proxy.
Dee Dee allegedly forcing her daughter to shave her head, remain in a wheelchair, get feeding tubes, and receive unnecessary surgery. It is a spine chilling relationship between a mother and her daughter which nobody would ever want.
The person who helped Rose in the murder was her online boyfriend, Nicholas Godejohn. He had a criminal history. Godejohn’s a few years earlier was allegedly caught watching pornography in a McDonald’s in 2013. This was his first time coming across the law. Police also found a large folding knife with him.
Godejohn’s mental state was actually of that of a 10 years old child. Psychologist Kent Franks testified this in 2016. He reported Godejohn had an IQ of 82.

Gypsy Rose stole a knife from Walmart and gave it to Godejohn for the murder purpose. They met on ChristianDatingForFree.com in 2012. Texts reveal that both had an evil side. Godejohn once texted that he “enjoys killing.” He also attributed himself as a “hired hit man.” The couple would engage in BDSM role-playing over texts.
After the murder, it was revealed that Godejohn wanted to have sex. He initially tried to rape Dee Dee, but Rose managed to produce a deal and allowed him to have sex with her instead of her dead mother. Although, Rose claimed that the sex was not approved from her side and she yelled at him to stop. But, police have not charged Godejohn with rape acquisition.
Godejohn was charged with a sentence of life imprisonment, while Gypsy is serving a 10-year sentence.
