Based on the comic book series of the same name, created by Gerad Way and Gabriel Ba’, The Umbrella Academy is an American superhero web television series developed by Steve Blackman and Jeremy Slater for Netflix. The plot revolves around the story of seven adopted siblings who were born under mysterious circumstances and all of them possessing powerful abilities. They were taken in by a man named Sir Reginald Hargreeves, who gives each child a number instead of a name, Number One to Number Seven. The siblings reunite after their father’s death to solve the mystery behind it and later end up saving the entire world from an impending apocalypse.

Umbrella Academy Season 2 has officially been confirmed for by its creators.
The production will begin in the next few months. Blackman told the creator of the comic book series in an interview, that it takes them 18 months to do a season. So we can expect the new season to arrive in 2020. Season 2 will be filmed in and around Toronto, Canada. With the first season having 10 episodes, we can expect approximately the same number of episodes for the next season also. The second season will likely be based on the “Dallas” storyline, the second in the comic series.
On his Instagram page, Steve shared the cover page of the season’s first episode script and revealed that it’s called “Right Back Where We Started”.
It signifies that the show will start off back in time when the siblings were younger, confirming that they travelled in time. Further, since all of them are reverting back to their childhood selves, it’s possible Ben will return, having never died.
Also, the story has focused on Ben, who’s already dead in the first season. So, the second season could reveal the details about it.
The first season also didn’t mention the other 36 babies born on the same day as the members of the show. So there are chances that they could play a role in the second season.

The story will likely follow the Umbrella Academy as they attempt to save their sister and in the process, finally save the world. For this, they need to be united again which would eventually lead to new challenges and adventures.
Although there has not been any official announcement about anyone leaving the show, Aiden Gallagher’s tweet has caused fear among the fans of him, being dead. He tweeted: “I will always look back and say wow that was the coolest role I ever played”. Despite being asked so many questions, he hasn’t clarified the tweet. There are possibilities that he is just grateful for being a part of the show and not actually leaving it.
There are possibilities that the crew will return to the show to depict what happens next.
The season two trailer has not been released yet. It will be released after the production is completed.
So, Netflix subscribers need to be vigilant for the trailer to drop online.
