The expected arrival of Dwight from The Walking Dead into the brand new season 5 of Fear The Walking Dead has definitely helped the show gain some ratings especially after the first episode’s comparatively dwindled ratings.
Though the debut ratings fell from last year’s The Walking Dead crossover, the first episode reviews have tanked since the beginning of this companion series. The Walking Dead similarly began with a confidence and conflict that everyone just loved to watch but as the seasons passed and main characters began to die, it seemed that the show all its glory and even the zombies didn’t add to the thrill.
The main ensemble of Fear The Walking Dead started off with something good and it looked like maybe they won’t repeat the same mistakes their companion series did but alas, no. They drove over the same driveway and crashed, quite pathetically. The first episode represented one of the toughest group of survivors yet most lame and idiotic actions were performed by them.
It isn’t the cast’s fault howsoever, but the show has become very dull with its writing and loss of glossiness in its script and dialogues. There’s no tension, no sweating from within anymore and it actually accounts for the show’s steady deterioration.
Dwight’s entry into Season 5
Recently showrunner Ian Goldberg explained to Entertainment Weekly: ‘We love Dwight. We love Austin Amelio. We’re huge fans of his character and his work on The Walking Dead.
‘When we started to talk about bringing Dwight over, it started in the same place for us emotionally as when we were talking last season about Morgan, and that is: Emotionally, what’s the story we’re telling on a bigger scale this season?’
The news of Dwight has certainly helped to regain some stability after watching an idiotic episode of this new season yet there’s no fixed assumption that his entry will fix the show.
