Netflix CONFIRMED The Release Date of The Umbrella Academy Season 2 in Quarantine Video Conference

Netflix has finally confirmed the release date of highly anticipated season 2 of the popular Netflix Originals, The Umbrella Academy.

The comic-based superhero web series will return on the streaming platform on July 31, 2020. Netflix uploaded a quarantine videoconference teaser on Sunday to announce the show’s return date. The live-action series of the popular comic book of the same name received positive reviews from the public and was an instant hit in the streaming service.

The official titles for every eight episodes were also revealed. The first episode of season 2 has been entitled, Right Back Where We Started. The title suggests that the second season will begin immediately after the ending of the first season’s finale. The showrunner, Steve Blackman, will direct the first and last episode of the second season.

The dysfunctional family returns to properly save the Earth from an apocalypse that is believed to be imminent. In the course of the first season, the siblings come in conflict with each other due to their divergent personalities and superpower abilities. The siblings initially try to understand the reason for the death of their father but later somehow triggers the apocalypse that destroys the Earth into rubbles.

The finale of the first season creates a situation everyone in the Earth is in imminent danger, but the siblings overcome their differences and join their hands one last time to alter apocalypse. Season two also introduces three more important characters. Yusuf Gatewood will portray Raymond, Ritu Arya will appear as Lila, and Marin Ireland will portray Sissy. The returning actors are Ellen Page, Tom Hopper, Robert Sheehan, David Castañeda, Justin H. Min, Emmy Raver-Lampman, and Aidan Gallagher.

The official date announcement video uploaded by Netflix on their official YouTube account features the cast dancing in I Think We’re Alone Now. The song is the rendition of Tiffany’s 1987 song of the same name. The dance is also a nod to one of the fan-favorite moments in The Umbrella Academy.
