Lake Mary High School Student kills self on School Campus

Seminole County, Florida: On Wednesday Lake Mary High School in Seminole County, Florida was locked down after a 17 year shot and killed herself in the school auditorium.

The Incident occurred at around 8 am when a teacher heard a gunshot from the school auditorium, Sheriff Dennis Lemma said in a press conference.

Lemma added that after the gunshot two school resource deputies at the school rushed to the noise of the auditorium where they heard the gunshot from. There they say a girl lying on the auditorium floor. They tried to give first aid the girl but she was already dead Lemma said.

Authorities have not released the name the girl that was killed. They are also investigating how the girl got the gun and how she was able to get the gun on campus.

After the shots were heard the school was put under a code red lockdown. Nobodody was allowed to exit and enter the school during the lockdown.

However, those parents wanting to pick up their kids from the school are being allowed to do so, said school officials.

Michael Lawrence, Seminole County Public Schools spokesman said in a statement, “Any families wishing to pick up their student may do so by entering the Lake Mary High School campus by the entrance near the football field.”

He added, “There will be no access to campus through the school’s main entrance. When you arrive on campus, please remain in your vehicle. A team of school staff will be present to assist with contacting your student. In addition, please present your valid photo ID when picking up your student.”
