KyoAni Reveals Violet Evergarden Movie Trailer And Side Story Anime

The release date of the ‘Violet Evergarden: The Movie’ is out with its new trailer. The movie will hit the Japanese cinema on 10th January 2020. The trailer gives out some information about the cast, staff and plot details as to what the fans can expect from the movie.

Taichi Ishidate is again returning to director, as well as scriptwriter character designer – Reiko Yoshida, chief animation director – Akiko Takase, and composer – Evan Call.

The film will be taking place years after the world war when the world is gradually moving towards peace. Violet Evergarden finds an important letter that stirs things up. The trailer also revealed that a new Violet Evergarden Gaiden: Eien to Jidō Shuki Ningyō (Violet Evergarden Side-Story: Eternity and the Auto Memories Doll) anime will screen in theatres from 9-19 September this year The anime series premiered on Television as well as on Netflix in January 2018 and fans have been captivated by the beautiful animation.

Fans were very excited to find out they will be able to watch Violet Evergarden before the actual movie. This side story will be adapting the Chapter 2 of the Violet Evergarden light Novel named Eternity and the Auto Memories Doll. If you have already read the light Novel then you know what might be coming but all of our other readers could rest easy as we won’t be post any spoilers on this article.

For the people who are unaware of the story of Violet, a teenage girl who was used as a human weapon in the war. The story is set in an alternate setting similar to that of our history were after the end of war people are trying to rebuild their homes. Violet, who survives the war is tasked to ‘live’ by her major. She then to find out what her major meant becomes an Auto Memories Doll, a person who writes letters on behalf of other people as they are skilled with translating other people’s thought and feeling into words.

And this is where her journey beings and she finds out her inner self and meaning of all basic human feelings such as happiness, sadness, anger, and love.

Violet Evergarden was originally a light novel written by Kana Akatsuki and published by Kyoto Animation’s KA Esuma Bunko imprint. It received a grand prize in the fifth Kyoto Animation Award’s novel category making it the first ever work to win the grand prize in any of the three categories(novel, scenario, and manga).
