Texas Department of Public Safety has announced that they have caught Victor Alejandro Godinez, 24, the suspect responsible for the shooting one of Texas DPS trooper near 1500 block of south Maltese Street north of Freddy Gonzalez in Edinburg.
This announcement was made an hour after Texas DPS publically released the identity of the suspect responsible for the shooting on Saturday morning.

The Texas Department of Public Safety (DPS) is seeking information of the whereabouts of the suspect involved in the shooting at the 1500 block of south Maltese Street north of Freddy Gonzalez.
The suspect is Victor Alejandro Godinez, 24, of Edinburg.

The incident occurred on Saturday morning at around 8:45 a.m when a Texas DPS was shot by the suspect when he approached a car crash near 1500 block of south Maltese Street north of Freddy Gonzalez in Edinburg.
The Trooper was immediately transported to a local hospital when he is being treated. There are no reports on his status.
