Designated Survivor is a political thriller drama television series which is created by David Guggenheim. Recently its third season was aired as a Netflix Original, and it left the audience for more.
Its third season was out on Netflix on 7th June 2019, having 10 episodes in total. It was a respite for its fan as after its cancellation by ABC. Netflix renewed it. But watching the season’s finale, fans took to social media for its renewal for its fourth season.
It is known to all that Netflix takes some time to analyze the reaction of the audience on their content. The time period can be between 3 to 6 weeks. So till now Designated Survivor has not got a green light by Netflix for another series.
Based upon the audience reaction, the online streaming giant will decide whether to renew it or cancel it. So most probably, the announcement can come sometime in late June or early July.
Before becoming part of the Netflix family, it was of ABC’s. Its season 1 was premiered in September 2016 on ABC. The very second season premiered one year later with 22 episodes. Despite its success, Designated Survivor was canceled by ABC on May 2018. However, it did not suffer an ill fate as Netflix acquired the series for its season 3.
If it is confirmed for its next season, then we hope that we will see it on Netflix in the summer of next year. Designated Survivor season 4 will surely focus on Tom’s moral compass, higher stakes, and bigger consequences. Hope we see the best of the show.
