Google calendar was down for hours ? Here’s what happened..


    Users around the world couldn’t get access to their Google calendar for nearly 3 hours. They were met with a 404 error message through a browser from around 10 AM ET until about 12:40 PM ET. Later Google’s Calendar service Dashboard revealed that issues should be resolved for everyone within the next hour.

    “We expect to resolve the problem affecting a majority of users of Google Calendar at 6/18/19, 1:40 PM”. “Please note that this time frame is an estimate and may change,” message displayed in Calendar service dashboard. The funny thing was, the outage came just over an hour after Google’s G Suite twitter account sent out a tweet boasting Google Calendar’s ability to making scheduling simpler

    As of now, Google calendar is back up and running and accessible worldwide. “The problem with Google Calendar should be resolved. We apologize for the inconvenience and thank you for your patience and continued support. Please rest assured that system reliability is a top priority at Google, and we are making continuous improvements to make our systems better,” the message displayed by the company on the G Suite dashboard.

    Previously Google experienced a massive outage which caused YOUTUBE, GMAIL, and SNAPCHAT took offline due to some problem with the company’s overall cloud service. Google claimed that “high levels of network congestion in the eastern USA,” caused the problem. This type of things sometimes happens with that big platform so that’s all news was for google calendar.
