Henry Cavill to Star as Sherlock Holmes Alongside Millie Bobby Brown; Plot, Cast, Filming and More


    Among many others, we’ve seen Robert Downey Jr. play Sherlock. And we’ve seen Jonny Lee Miller play Sherlock. And then we’ve seen Benedict Cumberbatch take on Sherlock. And now, it looks like the Superman star Henry Cavill has a shot at impressing us with his version of the super funny, super smart London detective.

    That’s right! Henry Cavill has signed on for the role of Sir Arthur Con Doyle’s legendary Sherlock Holmes in the upcoming film, Enola Holmes and the internet simply can’t wait.

    The movie is reportedly is based on a book series, The Enola Holmes Mysteries written by Nancy Springer. It follows Sherlock and Mycroft Holmes’ much younger sister, Enola on her own adventures.

    The Case of the Missing Marquess is the first of the six novels where Enola solves mysteries.     Millie Bobby Brown will be playing the lead character Enola Homles in the film. One of the most popular young actresses in Hollywood, she has just finished work on Stanger Things Season 3, the show that gave her her fame. Helena Bonham Carter from Alice in Wonderland has also stepped in as Enola’s mother. Top that off with Henry Cavill and a superstar cast is ready to roll!

    The behind-the-scenes team is no less. Jack Thorne who worked on His Dark Materials and the stage play The Cursed Child is the lead writer. And Harry Bradbeer, best known for directing Fleabag and Killing Eve has signed on as the director.
