Michael Pachter Predicts GTA 6 Release Date, Plot, Locations and More; All News and Rumours Breakdown

After the release of Red Dead Redemption 2 is done and over, Rockstar fans are gearing up for the next assured release of the year- GTA 6 from the Grand Theft Auto franchise. And we have all the major spills on the release date, locations and more.

A Release Date: The Rumours Separated From The Facts

GTA 5, which launched over six years ago, was one of Rockstar’s most successful games. This means that we can definitely expect a GTA 6 sometime soon.

Fans were hit with bad news when some fake ads on the internet lead Rockstar to announce that the game wouldn’t drop in 2019. We can hope for a 2020 release, although industry analyst Michael Pachter thinks otherwise. He told Gaming Bolt, “Best case, GTA 6 gets announced in 2020 for a 2021 release.” He also said that a 2021 announcement and 2022 release was much more likely.

The Vice City Rumours

Another GTA6 rumor from the YouTube channel The Know said that GTA 6 will release in 2021-2022 and is being developed under code name Project Americas. The reason for the name? Players can fly to both USA and South America. It also reported that the action would take place in Vice City with some drug-running shadow plotlines. Check it out here:

Rockstar has no comment on this one yet.

The Location Speculation

Vice City, Rockstar’s Miami

There’s an abundance of rumors floating across the Internet on possible locations but one seems to be particularly persistent. An anonymous post made on Pastebin (now removed) said that players could fly between Vice City and Liberty City and would join a famous gang as a small drug-runner. This one was also backed up by a Glassdoor review by a Rockstar Games QA tester (again removed).

But hey, rumor until proved.

The News about GTA 6

There isn’t much that we know for sure thanks to Rockstar’s trademark silence. But we do know that GTA 6 is coming for sure, so in the meantime, hang tight!
