Robert Pattinson has now officially been cast as the caped crusader in the upcoming Batman movie. The supporting cast for Batman has not yet been confirmed. Fans have already begun speculating on the possible cast and crew for the DC movie. A particular fan artist, WillGray_Art, put his creativity into good use on Instagram.
The artist, who has more than 20,000 followers on Instagram, uploaded a picture of a possible pairing in the movie. He imagined popular fancast Vanessa Hudgens as Selina Kyle and Robert Pattinson together in a frame. The photoshopped picture, uploaded on Instagram, shows Selina Kyle slow dancing with Bruce Wayne in a romantic setting.
While Catwoman is rumoured to make an appearance in Batman, Vanessa Hudgens has not yet been cast as Catwoman. The actress, however, has expressed her interest in the role. She took to Instagram to urge fans campaign for her involvement in the movie as Catwoman. She shared several fan arts of her as Batman’s love interest on Instagram to the effect.
Director Matt Reeves’ Batman has garnered a lot of traction on social media lately due to the decision to cast Robert Pattinson as Batman. While several fans were excited with the casting, there were others who expressed their doubts concerning the Twilight actor. The new film traces the life of a younger Bruce Wayne as he comes into his role of the vigilante.
“It’s very much a point of view-driven, noir Batman tale. It’s told very squarely on his shoulders, and I hope it’s going to be a story that will be thrilling but also emotional,” director Reeves said of the movie earlier this year.
“It’s more Batman in his detective mode than we’ve seen in the films. The comics have a history of that. He’s supposed to be the world’s greatest detective, and that’s not necessarily been a part of what the movies have been. I’d love this to be one where when we go on that journey of tracking down the criminals and trying to solve a crime, it’s going to allow his character to have an arc so that he can go through a transformation,” he added.
The Batman is slated to release on June 2021
