Selena Gomez and Bill Murray Promotional Strategy for Dead Don’t Die made Fans Angry

The Dead Don’t Die co-stars made news last month when Selena Gomez joked on in her Instagram post that she’s going to marry veteran actor, Bill Murray.

Selena’s Joke to marry Bill Murray…

This year’s Cannes Film Festival was Selena’s first where her movie was being screened. She took to her Insta but what caught the audience’s attention was her caption in which Selena wrote: “My first time in Cannes! I’m so honored to have a been a part of this movie with Jim and the whole cast. By the way, Bill Murray and I are getting married”. Selena’s joke caused a considerable uproar not just among her fans but also on the internet with many disliking it.

What was Murray whispering to Selena?

A paparazzi photographed Selena and Bill, which again made us think whether something was going on between them or not. Murray was seen whispering something to Selena, and when she was asked about it on The Tonight Show, Selena revealed to host Jimmy Fallon.

“It wasn’t even — first off, that kind of looks weird,” Selena said after seeing the photograph. “But he was saying dumb things. Like he would just lean in and be like, ‘You look great tonight.’ And then he’d look back seriously and be like, ‘Where are you from?’ And I would just sit there, and I’m trying to be poised. It was fine. That’s what he did with all the time. In press conferences, he’d try to hit me with things. Yeah, it’s just he’s fun. He’s a big kid.”

Murray likes Selena…

From her statement, it’s explicit about the great camaraderie that both the stars share. But Bill’s statement had all of us rethink about their relationship. In an interview with the People, he told her that he could have taken Gomez to meet her mom. “If my mother were alive I’d bring her home to her. I learned that I like her. I learned that whatever preconception I had about someone that had 55 million billion followers of something — I probably thought she was different than she turned out to be.”

Well, both the stars caused a massive uproar with their words just before the release of their movie, which makes us think whether all the fiasco was a promotional strategy for the film or not. If it was then it’s no surprise as it has become a trend in the industry.
