Star Trek Writer, Peter Allan Fields Passes Away? Does That Mean an End.

The veteran writer, Peter Allan Fields, who wrote episodes for Star Trek, passed away on Wednesday, 19th June 2019.

The Mind Behind Star Trek: The Next Generation and Star Trek: Deep Space NineĀ 

Peter Allan Feilds was the mind behind some of the best episodes of Star Trek. He wrote the episodes for Star Trek: The Next Generation and Star Trek: Deep Space Nine. The news of his demise was first revealed on Twitter by Ira Steven Behr who worked with Fields on Star Trek: Deep Space Nine.

Fields’ work on Star Trek

Peter Allan Fields co-wrote a total of 13 episodes for the two Star Trek series. Fields also worked as a producer during the first two seasons of Deep Space Nine. In The Next Generation, the episodes he wrote were- “Half A Life” and “Cost Of Living” as well as “Dax,” “Duet,” “Bloodoath” and “In The Pale Moonlight” from Deep Space Nine.

All these episodes were some of the most loved, which had very crucial moments. He also co-wrote Inner Light which is regarded as one of the most significant episodes of Star Trek for which he received Hugo award for the category of Best Dramatic Presentation which he shared with Morgan Gendel and Peter Lauritson.

His other works:

Fields was one of the most well-known writers of the television industry in the 1970s and ’80s. He was a lawyer and short story writer. His breakthrough in the industry was from The Man From U.N.C.L.E. when two of his clients told him about the show. HeĀ has also worked on several other successful shows like Jake and the Fatman, The Six Million Dollar Man, Knight Rider, Xena: Warrior Princess, McCloud, and Legend.

Fields will always be remembered for his work and the memorable characters he’d given to this industry. Our thoughts are with his family and friends.
